Fargo Public Library to host 3.2.1 events

FARGO – The Fargo Public Library is sponsoring two events as part of the “Three Communities, Two Books, One Art Exhibit” project this week at the downtown main library.

There will be a discussion on the theme of “the quest,” centered on Sena Jeter Naslund’s 1999 novel “Ahab’s Wife or, the Star-Gazer” at 7 p.m. Thursday. Kelli Sassi, an assistant professor of English and education at North Dakota State University, will facilitate the event.

A film screening of Greg Carlson’s documentary “Inside the White Whale” is scheduled at 2 p.m. Sunday. Carlson’s short film is about artist Matt Kish’s odyssey to illustrate each page of Melville’s classic “Moby-Dick,” a project he eventually titled “Moby-Dick in Pictures.” A discussion of the project will follow.
