Dragons take two matches at Winona State tournament

WINONA, Minn. – The Minnesota State Moorhead volleyball team won a pair of matches Saturday at the Winona State tournament.

Kaitlin VanWinkle had match highs of 14 kills and four blocks as the Dragons defeated Upper Iowa 25-21, 25-16, 25-23.

VanWinkle and Annie Palmquist each had 16 kills to lead MSUM (4-0) to a 25-17, 25-19, 18-25, 23-25, 15-11 win against Winona State.

UI (kills-blocks-aces): Berry 7-1-1 (11 digs), Franklin 4-1-0, Brown 4-1-3 (15 assists), VanderWoude 1-1-0, Mundt 13-1-0, Caspers 3-0-0.

MSUM: VanWinkle 14-4-0, Gradishar 9-0-0, Wolpern 2-3-0, Gruber 11-0-1, Sullivan 1-0-0, Krenske 0-0-2 (17 digs), Baer 2-0-0 (22 assists), Palmquist 6-1-0, Atkins 6-0-0.
