NDSU senior spotlight: Ryan Smith

Q: If there was a movie made about your life, what actor would you want to play you?

A: Brad Pitt probably. Brad Pitt because he’s always in those kind of … tough movies.

What is your favorite sports movie?

Definitely “The Sandlot” because I always watched it as a little kid.

What is your favorite social media platform?

It’s got to be Twitter because I think it’s a lot better than Facebook. All you have is statuses, not people’s whole life stories (like) with Facebook.

What is your favorite jersey color to wear?

Yellow, because … we always wear them in the playoffs, and we’ve done pretty well with them.

What is something most people would not know about you?

I’m a quiet guy. I don’t really talk much. I’m more of a listener than a talker.

What is your most prized possession?

Probably my two national championship rings, because they mean the world to me, and I wouldn’t give them up for anything in this world.

If you weren’t playing football, what other sport would you play?

I would probably be running track at NDSU.

What is the proudest moment of your athletic career?

Winning back-to-back national championships, you can’t get much better than that. It’s a privilege and it’s an honor.

What was your favorite cartoon character as a kid?

My favorite cartoon character was Speedy Gonzales, because he’s always the fastest one. I guess I try to be just like him.
