Letter: Special thanks to green & goldMy father turned 70 on Aug. 25. He was a member of the class of 1966 at North Dakota State University and a proud TEK frat brother. He loves his green and gold as he loves his farm, his family and North Dakota all combined into one.
But on Aug. 31, his baby girl’s (my) cancer came out of remission. Not only had the tumor grown back but the cancer spread to different parts of my body. But it was also the same day that the green and gold took Kansas by storm and said too bad to Dorothy ... ’cause even a Bison will forever stop a tornado.
As that daughter will be fighting the good fight with cancer at Fargo’s very own Roger Maris Cancer Center, thank you to the green and gold football team for making North Dakota proud and winning.
You let this old farmer alumni upgrade his country cable TV to watch a great bunch of kids really show what “Friday Night Lights” are all about in God’s country – actually make that Bison country – and show the rest of the ESPN nation that we North Dakota kids are here for child’s play. But, more importantly, providing entertainment to a loving farmer father, and as that daughter, I thank you.
Thank you, Coach Craig Bohl and the rest of the boys. Go, Bison.
