No new world record for ND french fry feed
GRAND FORKS — An annual french fry feed in Grand Forks failed to eclipse its own world record.
The feed is held during the annual Potato Bowl week that celebrates the potato industry in the Red River Valley. Potato processor J.R. Simplot sponsors the event, which is dubbed the world's largest.
The Grand Forks Herald reports (http://bit.ly/19p7dgt) that organizers on Thursday served up 4,860 pounds of fries, just short of the 2011 record of 5,010.
