Fargo man arrested on suspicion of luring

FARGO – Police on Friday arrested a 34-year-old Fargo man on suspicion of luring a minor by computer or other electronic means.

According to a written report released by Police Lt. Joel Vettel:

Jeffrey Lee Buckmeier is suspected of initiating an Internet chat starting Aug. 9 with someone he believed was a girl younger than 15

The individual actually was an investigator with a child sex offender investigations unit based in Golden, Colo.

Buckmeier’s conversations with the detective contained references to sexual contact, according to the report.

According to Vettel, Buckmeier was convicted in 2008 in Cass County District Court of indecent exposure and was assessed as a moderate risk offender by the North Dakota Sex Offender Risk Assessment Committee.

His victims were younger than 15 and were known to him, according to Vettel.
