Fargo truck stop hit-and-run leads to arrest of semi driver for DUIFARGO – A semi-truck driver was arrested early Saturday morning after he hit another truck in a parking lot and drove off, according to police.
Sgt. Kevin Pallas said Jason Michael Ploude, 38, of Hermosa Beach, Calif., was leaving the parking lot of the Flying J truck stop at 3150 39th St. S.W. shortly after 2 a.m. when he allegedly struck a parked semi and drove away.
Another trucker at the Flying J saw the crash and reported it to police before following Ploude as he drove northbound on Interstate 29.
Pallas said officers pulled Ploude over on the interstate near the Main Avenue exit and discovered he was on his way to the Stamart truck stop.
Ploude was arrested for driving under the influence and arrested shortly after 2:30 a.m. His truck was impounded.
