16-year-old female driver crashes into south Moorhead houseMOORHEAD – A 16-year-old female lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a house Friday afternoon in the 300 block of 37th Avenue South, Moorhead police reported.
Police were dispatched to the scene at 2:30 p.m. A vehicle that was north-bound on Fourth Street failed to negotiate a turn at 37th Avenue, according to a news release. The vehicle crossed 37th Avenue and struck a home on the north side of the avenue, causing extensive damage to the garage, the release stated.
No one in the house was injured. Police said resi-dents can still live in the house despite some struc-tural damage.
The driver’s 15-year-old male passenger suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and was transported to a local hospital. The release stated police are seeking charges against the 16-year-old of driving under the influence, criminal vehicular operation due to injuries to the passenger, no driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The juvenile female was released to the care of her parents.
