Sen. Bill Ingebrigtsen, Alexandria, Minn., Published August 30 2013
Letter: Letter false about stance on farmersA recent letter sent in by Tommy Stiles made false statements about a conversation he and I had earlier this month. In the letter Stiles wrote to the Fargo Forum published on Aug. 24, he accused me of calling farmers a parasite on taxpayers. This could not be further from the truth.
Growing up in Greater Minnesota has taught me the value farmers and agriculture brings to the community, not only in jobs but with high character individuals. Farmers are some of the hardest-working and most genuine people in the world. For Stiles to accuse me of painting them as a parasite is offensive. In my seven years in the Minnesota Senate, I have asked to and proudly served on the Senate Ag committee. I have always and will always support the agriculture community and hardworking farmers.
Ingebrigtsen, R, represents District 8 in the Minnesota Senate.
