Fargo woman accused of boot attack gets probation

FARGO – A Fargo woman has pleaded guilty to preventing arrest after she was accused of beating her boyfriend unconscious with a boot after he disturbed her sleep at her apartment here in April.

Bonnie Kay Hanson, 36, pleaded guilty Monday to one count of misdemeanor A preventing arrest in Cass County District Court and was sentenced to 360 days of unsupervised probation with credit for six days served in jail.

Court documents say Hanson called police April 21 to say her boyfriend, Andrew Vivier, had broken into her home and put a knife to her neck.

She later admitted to police she had yelled at Vivier for making noise with his friends while she was trying to sleep, and when he grabbed a boot, she took it from him and hit him in the head with it several times, knocking him out, according to court records.
