SD man convicted of bank robbery in ND
BISMARCK — North Dakota's U.S. Attorney Tim Purdon says a federal jury has convicted a 19-year-old South Dakota man of bank robbery.
Purdon says Colt Schneider, of Rapid City, S.D., was also convicted of use and carry of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 15 in Bismarck.
Authorities say that two men wearing black ski masks and carrying guns entered American Bank Center in New England, N.D., on Oct. 28 and fled after grabbing money from a bank employee.
Officers identified Schneider as one of the suspects after obtaining video from the gas station and distributing a picture. He was arrested Nov. 10 in Sarasota, Fla.
The other suspect, Johnner Joe Ward, Jr., pleaded guilty and is scheduled to be sentenced Monday.
