Fargo TV host Chris Berg claims Grand Forks superintendent Nybladh called him an obscenity

GRAND FORKS – A Fargo television host claims Grand Forks Public Schools Superintendent Larry Nybladh called him an obscenity following a television interview that aired Wednesday on Valley News Live broadcasts in Grand Forks and Fargo.

Nybladh appeared on the program “6:30 Point of View,” hosted by Chris Berg, and discussed a proposed School District tax increase. After playing the interview, conducted via telephone and video, Berg played an audio recording of what he said was Nybladh calling him an obscene word after the interview ended. The word was edited out of the audio recording.

Berg also aired a video of a conversation with Nybladh via speakerphone during which Nybladh did not confirm what he said, but said the comment was made after the interview finished and not meant for broadcast.

Nybladh was superintendent of Moorhead Public Schools for 8½ years until summer 2008, when he took over in Grand Forks.

Nybladh could not be reached Wednesday evening for comment.

Valley News Live is a partnership of KXJB-TV in Grand Forks and KVLY-TV in Fargo.
