Fargo 14-year-old arrested in another car prowling caseFARGO – A 14-year-old from Fargo was arrested early Tuesday after police spent more than an hour searching for a suspected car prowler.
According to Police Lt. Joel Vettel:
The incident began about 1 a.m. when an officer spotted a youth in a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 1800 block of 15th St. S.
When the officer approached, the individual ran away and led police in a game of hide-and-seek through the neighborhood for more than an hour.
Police eventually found the suspect in a shed and took him into custody, said Vettel, who added the youth will face charges of burglary, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.
Vettel said the arrest was the sixth car prowling arrest in three weeks.
He said the number of such crimes has increased this year and the Police Department has been devoting more resources to the issue.
