Mom: Minn. boy whose feet severed is 'doing well'

ST. PAUL — The mother of a St. Paul boy whose feet were severed by a freight train this week says the 9-year-old has stabilized and is "doing well."

Kimberly Farr said Saturday her son was "doing wonderfully for the situation" and that God has been good.

Marshawn Kenneth Farr-Robinson lost both of his feet Thursday. Witnesses said he appeared to be trying to jump onto the ladder of a slow-moving train when he fell.

A spokeswoman at Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul said Marshawn was in fair condition Saturday.

The tracks are owned by BNSF Railway Co. Railroad spokeswoman Amy McBeth said there are no-trespassing signs in the area. BNSF is investigating the accident.
