Weekend watch: West Fargo's Pioneer DaysFriday through Sunday
Celebrate the pioneer history of North Dakota this weekend at the annual Pioneer Days, a family-friendly event that includes demonstrations, entertainment and food along with plenty of opportunities to learn more about the state’s early days.
Pioneer Days kicks off at 3:30 p.m. Friday with the second annual Crossing of the Red River ceremony beginning at the Hjemkomst Center, 202 1st Ave. N., Moorhead. The five covered wagons and outriders will arrive at 5:45 p.m. at Bonanzaville, 1351 Main Ave. W., West Fargo, for a ceremonial handing off of the state flag and a concert by Poitin until 8 p.m.
Activities continue all weekend, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Bonanzaville. (701) 282-2822.
