Former Bison Dolezal set to compete at World ChampionshipsFARGO – Former North Dakota State track athlete Riley Dolezal is slated to compete Thursday at the World Track and Field Championships in Moscow.
Dolezal will represent Team USA in the javelin. He won the USA championship in that event in June with a lifetime-best throw of 273-11 (83.50m).
That javelin competition at the World Championships is held over two days with the qualification round starting at 12:30 a.m. (CST) Thursday. A minimum of 12 competitors will advance to Saturday for three more attempts. Eight men from that group will make the final for three more throws.
Universal Sports will broadcast the World Championships live from 12:30 to 3 a.m. on Thursday.
