Moorhead 21-year-old held in high-speed chase

MOORHEAD – A 21-year-old Moorhead man was in the Clay County Jail early this morning after a high-speed chase through the county that approached speeds of 100 mph.

The incident began about 2:40 a.m. in the area of 50th Avenue and 40th Street South, when a driver failed to stop for a stop sign and fled when a deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, said Matt Siiro, Clay County chief deputy.

The pursuit followed a number of rural roads until the pursued vehicle struck an embankment and ended up in a field, Siiro said, adding that at that point the suspect fled on foot, but was eventually caught and taken into custody.

Siiro said the suspected driver, whom he identified as Jarrad L. Hogan, 21, of Moorhead, faces a number of potential charges, including disobeying a stop sign; fleeing in a motor vehicle; criminal damage to property and driving while intoxicated.
