St. Paul shooting leaves man deadST. PAUL PARK, Minn. – A 20-year-old St. Paul Park man was found dead inside an apartment here after a shooting early Saturday, authorities said.
Police responded at 1:45 a.m. to a report of a man being shot. Officers arrived to find a man dead inside an apartment at a six-unit complex, St. Paul Park Police Chief Mike Monahan said.
There were witnesses, and Monahan said investigators were still trying to determine what took place.
“We’ve identified some people involved that would be persons of interest,” Monahan said. No arrests had been made Saturday.
Monahan did not provide more information Saturday, citing the investigation. The victim’s name was not immediately released.
A Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension mobile unit was on scene Saturday morning, along with a Ramsey County medical examiner.
The death is being investigated by St. Paul Park police with assistance from the BCA.
Monahan said the apartment complex has not been a problem address for police in the past.
There was no threat to public safety, Monahan said as investigators worked the scene.
