Feds charge Bismarck residents in meth conspiracyBISMARCK — Federal prosecutors have charged three Bismarck residents in a methamphetamine conspiracy.
Beau Benfiet, Laura Makeeff and Joshua Schauer have pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, and distribution of a controlled substance within a school zone.
Benfiet is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Authorities say he was found to have a Ruger semi-automatic .22 caliber rifle and ammunition.
Benfiet has four drug convictions on his record that included prison terms of at least one year.
Trial for the three defendants is set for Dec. 16.
