Pizza delivery driver robbed at gunpoint in Fargo

FARGO – A pizza delivery driver was robbed in Fargo Sunday night.

Just around midnight, police received a report of a pizza delivery driver who was robbed at gunpoint in the 2600 block of 14th Street South, Lt. Joel Vettel said.

Vettel said as the driver approached the apartment building where the customer supposedly lived he telephoned the customer to be let into the security building.

After the driver entered the building he was confronted by a man with a pistol who demanded his money, Vettel said.

He said the delivery driver did the right thing by handing over the money he had. Vettel said he also handed over the pizzas he was carrying.

Vettel said the gunman left the building and was followed by two other individuals, though he said it wasn't clear what connection, if any, those men had to the robbery.

Vettel said the gunman was described a dark-skinned black male.

A police canine was brought in to track the robber, but the attempt did not lead anywhere, according to Vettel.

The driver wasn’t hurt in the incident and the case remains under investigation, Vettel said.
