Widening work started on ND oil patch highwayWILLISTON, N.D. — Work has begun to widen a U.S. Highway 85 that serves as a major artery in North Dakota's booming oil patch.
The highway is being widened to four lanes from Watford City to Williston. Work is slated to be finished in 2015.
North Dakota's two-year Transportation Department budget that began in July includes $2.3 billion for road improvements statewide — $1.5 billion of which is slated for the oil patch.
