Body of man who likely drowned found in Lake Sakakawea

MINOT, N.D. — Authorities have found the body of a man who apparently drowned in Lake Sakakawea in northwestern North Dakota.

The Minot Daily News reports that searchers found the body of 50-year-old Scott Eagle on Friday. He had been in a boat with family members Tuesday night when he reportedly went overboard.

The incident happened a mile north of the Four Bears Bridge, which is a half mile from the Fort Berthold Reservation line.

A spokeswoman with the Three Affiliated Tribes says the searchers included state and tribal game and fish personnel and emergency responders.

Eagle was a former New Town-Little Shell representative to the tribal business council.
