Frozen yogurt shop Yogi Berries opens in downtown FargoFARGO – When Emilie Johnson decided she wanted to go into business for herself, she gave a lot of thought to what downtown Fargo might be lacking in terms of unmet consumer demand.
When the answer came to her, it was cool and sweet.
And this week she opened Yogi Berries Frozen Yogurt Factory, a local brand of her own making.
It’s located next to the Drunken Noodle and Wasabi Sushi and Asian Grill in the 600 block of NP Avenue, a spot Johnson said is perfect for diners who may be looking for desert.
One of the shop’s walls is actually open to the adjacent businesses, making the decision to walk next door for an after-dinner treat easier.
Johnson, a graduate of Concordia College who has worked in the mental health field for a couple of decades, said she has worked in food service in the past and found the work enjoyable.
She will be getting help around the yogurt shop from her daughter, Hailey Johnson, a student at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Johnson said her daughter is also in charge of the store’s social media presence.
Store hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday.
