Weather Talk: Saturday missed breaking record low for July 27 dateLast Sunday morning, July 28, the low temperature at Hector International Airport tied the record low of 44 degrees set in 1973 and several other years.
The previous morning, Saturday, July 27, had been forecast to break its record low of 46 set in 1971, but it did not as scattered clouds hovered around the area around Fargo-Moorhead for several hours prior to sunrise, and the temperature only reached 47.
Had that Saturday record been broken, it would have left the record low of 46 degrees set July 25, 1900, as the warmest record low of any day in the Fargo-Moorhead record. As it is, July 25 and July 27 remain tied as the warmest record lows.
