Fatal motorcycle crash near JamestownJAMESTOWN, N.D. – A 47-year-old man is dead after crashing his motorcycle here on County Road 40.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol responded to the crash at 7 p.m. Sunday. The driver, identified by the Highway Patrol as Albert L. Buchanan, was traveling westbound on County Road 40 and failed to make the curve while turning south and ran off the roadway into the west ditch.
Once in the ditch, the motorcycle rolled, and Buchanan was ejected. He was taken by ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. Buchanan was not wearing a helmet.
The crash remains under investigation.
