Convicted ND felon accused of firearms, drug offensesBISMARCK — A convicted felon in North Dakota is facing federal weapons and drug charges.
Steven Ray Scranage is accused of possession of firearm by a convicted felon, possession of body armor by a person convicted of a felony crime of violence, and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
Authorities say Scranage had seven weapons and 15 different brands of ammunition in his possession.
Scranage was convicted of felony assault in Flathead County, Mont., in 2000, and criminal possession of dangerous drugs, also in Flathead County, ins 2005.
Prosecutors say Scranage is a flight risk and danger to the community and want him held without bail. A detention hearing is scheduled Tuesday in Bismarck.
