Style Profile: Relaxed, West Coast style for franchise owner

FARGO – Ciara Stockeland is a Midwest woman with an affinity for West Coast style.

Stockeland, of Grand Forks, owns designer goods outlet franchise MODE. The entrepreneur favors layers and practical, fashionable clothing.

I spotted Stockeland at her Fargo store in a fresh, easy outfit.

Describe your style. West Coast easy. That ocean lifestyle is all about being comfortable and up-to-date.

What are you wearing today? Sinclair denim crops, Gerry Weber cardigan and ruched tank, all from MODE, and I bought my sandals in Boston a few weeks ago.

What’s your favorite thing in your closet? Tan cardigans. You can throw them over anything.

Where do you get style inspiration? I travel a lot, and I love sitting in the airport to people watch. I’m also inspired by MODE franchise owners’ styles.

Do you have a favorite city or state for style? Hawaii. I go once a year, and I love how simple the women dress. They pile on bracelets and wear comfy things like maxi skirts and put their hair up in a messy bun and still look totally put together.

Who are your style icons? Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Garner. I like how they usually wear jeans and a scarf and carry a big handbag.

Do you have any tips for dressing for hot summer weather? Wear dark denim shorts and layer two tanks so you get a pop of color. I like to wear scarves, but if it’s too hot, wear a bunch of bracelets.
