Clute, Hawley topple Red Lake Falls at Legion tournament

ADA, Minn. – Hawley’s Chad Clute struck out 12 batters and allowed only one hit in seven innings to lead his team to a 5-0 win over Red Lake Falls in the first round of the Minnesota Division II, District 9 American Legion baseball tournament on Wednesday.

Barnesville lost to Warroad 5-4 despite three hits from Austin Martz.

Roseau’s Alex Ziegler collected three hits and drove in two runs during a 7-2 win over Ottertail Central.

In the final game, North No. 4 seed Ada upended Parkers Prairie, the South’s top seed 4-2.
