Pint-sized sorbets offer summer refreshment
I’ve tried several store brands in the past, but when Target started carrying the Ciao Bella pints this year, I knew I’d found a winner.
For less than $4 a pint, the dairy-free coconut and fat-free mango sorbets are my favorite flavors. I also tried the Blood Orange and Greek Yogurt, but found the fruit swirl a weird texture.
Each flavor is made with only a handful of ingredients, all of which I’m able to pronounce. The fruit-based varieties range from 60 to 120 calories for a half-cup serving. The coconut sorbet comes in at 190 calories because it’s made with high-fat coconut milk.
Locally I’ve found only a few flavors, but I’m anxious to try the more exotic varieties like Prickly Pear, Peach Ginger, Blackberry Cabernet and Banana Mango.
Bottom line: If you’re looking for a change from your same old fro-yo or ice cream fix, give Ciao Bella sorbets a try.
