Shooting that wounded 15-year-old boy confirmed to be accidentalFARGO – Fargo police are wrapping up their investigation into a shooting that occurred Monday night and the probe has confirmed that the shooting, which left a 15-year-old boy wounded in the forearm, was accidental.
Lt. Joel Vettel said the incident happened in a south Fargo residence and not where police were initially told the incident occurred.
He said police are confident the shooting was not intentional.
Vettel said a number of individuals, all of them minors, were present when the shooting took place, adding that the individual who accidentally fired the gun was not the boy struck by the bullet.
The boy was treated at a local hospital for a gunshot wound to his forearm Monday night, at which point police were notified and launched their investigation.
Vettel said he did not know the boy’s condition Wednesday.
