Kottke, Wainwright to play Fargo TheatreFARGO – Folk guitarist Leo Kottke and Loudon Wainwright III will take the stage Oct. 11 at the Fargo Theatre.
The Minneapolis-based Kottke is celebrated for his finger-picking style that draws from folk, blues and jazz. He last played the Fargo in the spring of 2011.
Known for his sense of humor, Wainwright first gained attention for his 1972 novelty tune, “Dead Skunk (In the Middle of the Road)” and appearances on “M*A*S*H*.” However, his career has been no joke. He was nominated for Grammy Awards in ’85 and ’86, and won for best traditional folk album in 2010 for “High, Wide & Handsome: The Charlie Poole Project.”
