Three area athletes to play in Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association All-Star matchST. MICHAEL, Minn. – Three area high school athletes will compete in Wednesday’s Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association All-Star volleyball match.
Carly Masloski of Underwood and Emily Miron of Wadena-Deer Creek will compete for the red team. Mandy Mercil of Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton will compete for the blue team.
The match is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at St. Michael-Albertville High School.
Masloski is a 6-foot outside hitter who plans to play volleyball at Minnesota State-Moorhead. Masloski was an all-state selection after helping Underwood win an opening-round game at the Class A state tournament.
Miron is a 6-foot-2 middle blocker who plans to play at North Dakota State. Miron helped Wadena-Deer Creek reach the state tournament in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and was an all-state selection in 2012.
Mercil is a 5-8 setter who plans to play at Concordia. Mercil was an honorable-mention all-state selection after helping D-G-F to a 21-7 season.
