Dickinson woman dies in semi-truck crashNEW ENGLAND, N.D. – A Dickinson woman died after a collision with a semi-truck on Highway 22 near here early Thursday evening.
The woman, Paulette Meduna, 60, was riding in the passenger seat of a 2002 GMC Sierra truck traveling southbound on Highway 22. The northbound semi crossed the opposite lane and the truck collided with the back right area of the semi.
Mark Maslowski, the driver of the semi, told the North Dakota Highway Patrol that he had just passed a southbound tank-er and that the wind between the two vehicles pushed the truck on to the shoulder and its passenger side tires down the decline next to the roadway.
Maslowski tried to steer the truck back onto the northbound lane, but proceeded to cross the opposing lane toward the west ditch.
Charles Meduna, 61, who was driving the GMC Sierra, suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash. He was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson.
The driver of the semi did not appear to have any injuries, according to the highway patrol report.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
