Vintage aircraft tour in Fargo Aug. 8-11FARGO – The world’s only Flying B-29 “Superfortress” bomber will be at the Fargo Air Museum Aug. 8-11.
The four-engine aircraft, named “FIFI,” will be accompanied by the rare
B-24 Liberator bomber “Diamond Lil,” the P-51 Mustang Fighter “Gunfighter” and other historic World War II military airplanes.
The vintage planes are part of the Commemorative Air Forces Air Power History Tour. The B-17 Flying Fortress bomber “Sentimental Journey” will arrive Aug. 5. Reservations for rides in the B-17 can be made by calling (602) 448-9415. To purchase rides in the B-29 and B-24, visit www.AirPowerTour.com
Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and admission to the museum and exhibits are $15 per person or $30 per family. Children age 6 and younger are free.
At 10 a.m. on Aug. 10, the museum will conduct a groundbreaking ceremony for the Beck-Odegaard Wing addition in memory of Gerry Beck and Robert Odegaard.
As part of the fundraising efforts for the museum, a 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 raffle is being held. Tickets are available at the museum for $50. Several other prizes will be awarded in addition to the grand prize.
