Fire crews respond to laundry fire in FargoFARGO – Fire officials remind homeowners clean their clothes dryer lint traps after a laundry room fire here Monday afternoon.
Fire crews were called about 12:49 p.m. to an apartment building at 3200 22nd St. S. for a report of smoke coming from the first-floor laundry room.
Crews found a small fire behind the dryer in the laundry room and quickly put it out. Residents evacuated the building after smoke alarms sounded. They returned to their homes after about 30 minutes, a release from the Fire Department stated.
No one was injured.
The fire caused moderate smoke damage in the first floor halls totaling about $1,500.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
