Fargo hosts first 'Streets Alive' event today
Three miles of streets throughout Fargo-Moorhead will be closed to motorized vehicles to encourage people to adopt a healthy lifestyle by walking, running, biking, Rollerblading and dancing.
Headquarters for Streets Alive is the U.S. Bank Plaza downtown, where information, T-shirts and photo opportunities will be available.
Other Streets Alive activities include a live fencing demonstration from the F-M Fencing Club, street soccer, hula hooping at the corner of First Avenue North and Broadway and riding a five-seat bike at Great Northern Bicycle Co.
Healthy concessions will be available in the Civic Center parking lot and healthy-living focused exhibitors will be set up at Davy Memorial Park in Moorhead, 210 8th St. N.
The second Streets Alive in Fargo is Aug. 25. Dilworth (N.D.) Streets Alive is from 6 to 8 p.m. July 23 and West Fargo Streets Alive is from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Sept. 21.
