Corps posts plans for upgrading Pembina floodwallsPEMBINA, N.D. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has posted its plans for upgrading a flood protection system in the Pembina area of northeastern North Dakota.
The city is looking to improve portions of a nearly 3-mile levee system, including raising the elevation in several areas, replacing the cap of the floodwall and installing riprap below the pumping station.
The levee and floodwall system was completed in 1976.
Residents have until Aug. 9 to comment on the environmental assessment for the project.
