Letter: Snowden is not the primary issueIt appears that The Forum has fallen into the trap in the debate of whether Edward Snowden is a “hero” or a “traitor” or something else (Leafy Spurge, July 8).
Such a discussion is a waste of time. Snowden is not the issue. What we should be debating is the government’s program of spying on anyone or everyone: Is it a violation of privacy, according to constitutional principles?
I would welcome an intelligent constitutional discussion of this issue in The Forum and leave Snowden out of it.
