Detroit Lakes woman dies in collisionAUDUBON, Minn. – An 86-year-old Detroit Lakes woman died Thursday after a collision with a semi on Highway 10 here, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.
Arleen Hanson and her husband, Duane Hanson, were traveling eastbound on Highway 10 around 2 p.m. Thursday when their vehicle turned in front of a westbound semi on the undivided two-lane highway. She was in the passenger seat of a 2005 Buick LeSabre and the semi struck the side of the car, according to the report.
Duane Hanson, 86, suffered non-life threatening injuries during the collision. He was taken to Essentia Health St. Mary’s in Detroit Lakes.
The driver of the semi, Ryan Englehart, 34, of Jackson, Mo., did not have any apparent injuries, the report said.
All involved in the crash were wearing seatbelts and airbags in both vehicles deployed as a result of the collision.
The Minnesota State Patrol indicates the incident report was not complete at press time.
