Fargo woman faces charges in stabbing

FARGO – A Fargo woman faces charges stemming from a stabbing incident in Fargo Monday night.

According to police Lt. Joel Vettel:

Police responded to the 1500 block of 34th Avenue South about 9:30 p.m. on a report of two women walking in the area who were covered in blood.

Officers found the women and determined that one of them had suffered stab wounds to her torso and slash wounds to her arms.

The other woman, identified as Dawn M. Nystrom, 46, was then taken into custody.

Vettel said she faces charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest.

The victim was treated for her injuries at a local hospital.

Vettel said both individuals were extremely intoxicated and it was difficult for officers to determine what had led to the stabbing.
