Tuesday Tip: Use lotion as eye makeup removerFARGO – I don’t typically wear heavy eye makeup, so removing it isn’t usually too difficult.
But I recently participated in the Rural Cass Community Theatre’s production of Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man,” and I came home covered in heavy mascara and eye liner every night.
It wasn’t a great time to run out of my eye makeup remover cloths. But that’s of course when I realized I had none left and no time to run to the store for replacements.
Then I remembered a trick I learned in college.
To remove stubborn eye makeup, smooth some lotion over the eyelid and eyelashes and gently wipe it away with a tissue.
Be sure to keep your eye closed tightly so the lotion doesn’t get into your eye. And use a gentle, non-scented lotion in case it does make its way past the lid. You can use a wet washcloth to gently wipe away any lotion remaining on your lashes.
