1 rescued, 1 jumps from burning Bismarck apartment building

BISMARCK — Fire officials in Bismarck say one person had to be rescued out of a second-floor window when an eight-unit apartment building caught fire, and another occupant jumped from a second-story window.

Both people were treated at local hospitals Thursday evening and released.

The fire started in a main floor apartment kitchen. Firefighters quickly put it out, but damage is estimated at about $100,000 and all of the building's occupants have been displaced.

The cause of the blaze wasn't immediately determined.
