ND Highway Patrol boosts vehicle enforcementBISMARCK — The North Dakota Highway Patrol this year tripled the number of motor carrier troopers and inspectors taking part in an annual commercial motor vehicle enforcement program that takes place in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The Bismarck Tribune reports that 60 members of the Highway Patrol took part in Roadcheck, up from 15 to 20 troopers and inspectors a year ago.
The patrol completed 690 inspections during the event last month, up from 339 a year ago.
The effort found 508 violations. While 112 violations dealt with drivers, 380 involved vehicles and 16 involved hazardous materials.
