Water usage limited in Casselton after water main breaksCASSELTON, N.D. – City officials are asking residents here to avoid running their washing machines and dishwashers until Wednesday night after a water main break Tuesday morning.
The busted water mains knocked out water service to most Casselton residents Tuesday morning.
Even after the major water main break on the south end of town in the area of Fairway Drive and Seventh Street Court was fixed late morning, a minor break on the north side of town left some without water until later in the day.
City Auditor Sheila Klevgard said in a statement at about 3 p.m. Tuesday that household use of water needed to be restricted for the next 24 hours and a watering ban would be strictly enforced.
The system needs time to restore its pressure and reserves, she said.
