ND AG to meet with oil patch law enforcementBISMARCK — North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem is slated to meet with law enforcement officers from oil-producing counties.
Stenehjem says the meeting in Watford City on Tuesday is to discuss funding needs for laws enforcement in the state's booming oil patch.
Stenehjem has said that organized crime and other illegal activity is increasing with the skyrocketing population in western North Dakota.
The North Dakota Legislature recently appropriated $16.6 million to help oil patch communities deal with the increased crime.
Stenehjem says he will review requests for the money and explain the process for disbursement of funds, including the application procedures and the timeline.
