Mosquito spraying set for F-M area tonight

FARGO – The cities of Fargo, West Fargo and Moorhead plan to spray for mosquitoes tonight.

Ground spraying starts in Fargo and West Fargo at 8:30 p.m., Cass County Vector Control announced.

In Moorhead, spraying will take place citywide, starting about 8:30 p.m. and ending about midnight.

Spraying in Moorhead will require winds to be less than 10 mph and temperatures to be at least 58 degrees. If not, spraying may be rescheduled or done in following days.

While the spray has little toxicity to people, the Moorhead Park and Forestry Division recommends people not walk through the spray clouds or allow children to follow the spray machines.

For questions about Moorhead’s spraying program, or to have a spray machine turned off as it passes your home, call (218) 299-5422 and leave a detailed message.

Depending on weather conditions and an anticipated increase in mosquito numbers, spraying may be rescheduled or also done on following days, Cass County Vector Control said.
