Man pleads not guilty to attempted murderFARGO – A Fargo man accused of locking two men in his apartment here and attacking them with a sword and a table leg has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder charges.
Damon White Bird, 23, pleaded not guilty at an arraignment Wednesday in Cass County District Court to one count of Class A felony attempted murder, and two counts of felonious restraint and one count of aggravated assault, all Class C felonies. He also pleaded not guilty to a Class A misdemeanor charge of tampering with physical evidence.
Police reports say witnesses told Fargo police they saw White Bird hit one victim with a sword and what they thought was a baseball bat with a nail sticking out at White Bird’s apartment at 66 Broadway in Fargo in April.
The criminal complaint also says White Bird hit one of the victims in the head with a table leg, knocking him unconscious.
White Bird’s next court appearance is set for July 24.
