Utility crews making progress on power outages

MINNEAPOLIS — Xcel Energy crews are making progress on their work to restore power to Minnesota customers who lost service during the severe storms over the weekend.

The Minneapolis-based utility says about 23,000 remain without service Tuesday morning. At the peak of outages more than 616,500 Xcel Energy customers were without service.

Xcel Energy says it expects to restore power to the vast majority of its customers by Wednesday.
