Memphis Grizzlies reportedly hire former MSUM player Joerger as head coach

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Grizzlies have reached an agreement in principle with former Minnesota State Moorhead men’s basketball player Dave Joerger to become their next head coach, according to ESPN.com.

Joerger, a Staples, Minn., native, emerged as a favorite for the position after Grizzlies management granted former head coach Lionel Hollins permission to seek out other coaching opportunities.

Joerger spent the last six seasons on the Grizzlies’ bench as an assistant coach.
