Trial set for husband accused of killing wifeFARGO – A 10-day trial is set for September in the case of a south Fargo man accused of murdering his wife, then calling police to tell them she committed suicide.
Ronald William Rogers Jr., 46, was charged in February with the class AA felony murder of his wife, Elizabeth, in Cass County District Court, as well as with one count of willful disturbance of a dead body, a class A misdemeanor.
Court documents filed in the case say that Rogers called police from their home at 3522 30th Ave. S. to say his wife had shot herself in the head, then tampered with the body to make it look like suicide.
Rogers has pleaded not guilty in the case. A conviction on the murder charge could carry a life sentence without parole.
His trial is set to begin Sept. 23.
